The Toronto Marlies fell 4-0 to the Cleveland Monsters on Saturday evening in their final matchup of the regular season.
In the first period, both teams exchanged chances but the score remained 0-0. Early in the second, it was the visiting team who got on the board first. Carson Meyer scored 56 seconds into the middle frame to give the Monsters the early 1-0 lead. Later, Cleveland added another goal from Cole Fonstad at 14:51 to make it 2-0. Shortly after, Roman Achan scored at 16:06 to extend their lead to three after 40 minutes of play.
Late in the third, Roman Achan scored his second of the game on the empty net at 16:08 to make it 4-0 and secure the win for Cleveland. The Marlies return to action on Wednesday, March 29th when they host the Hershey Bears for their final School Day Game of the season. Puck drop is at 11:00am on the Toronto Maple Leafs app and AHLTV.
