The American HockeyLeague announced today that Toronto Marlies forward Dylan Gambrell has been selected as the Howies Hockey Tape / AHL Player of the Week for the period ending in December 17.
Gambrell, 27, recorded two goals and three assists in Toronto’s last two games. He recorded his second career four-point game in Toronto’s 8-2 win against the Providence Bruins on December15. He picked up a secondary assist on December 17 in Toronto’s fourth consecutive win, a 4-3 overtime victory against the Hartford Wolf Pack. The BonneyLake, Washington native has recorded 15 points (4 goals, 11 assists) in 23games this season with the Marlies.
Forward Nick Abruzzese was the last Toronto Marlie selected as AHL Player of the Week on November 13,2023.
TheToronto Marlies are the primary development program for the Toronto MapleLeafs. Since 2005, 148 players have appeared in regular season games at both the NHL and AHL levels. The current Maple Leafs roster features eight players who have dressed for both the Maple Leafs and Marlies – Simon Benoit, William Lagesson, Timothy Liljegren, Bobby McMann, William Nylander, Morgan Rielly, Nicholas Robertson and Joseph Woll.
