2017-18 Marlies Schedule Released

In conjunction with the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies announced today the complete 2017-18 AHL regular season schedule. The Marlies are set to open their season with back-to-back games on October 7th and 8th at the Ricoh Coliseum against the Utica Comets, affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. The full schedule is attached below.

Each team will play 76 games each (38 at home, 38 on the road) with the exception of Pacific Division members Bakersfield, Ontario, San Diego, San Jose, Stockton and Tucson, who will play 68 games. The 2018 Calder Cup Playoffs will feature the top four teams in each of the AHL’s four divisions as ranked by points percentage (points earned divided by points available).

The Marlies will see three new opponents in the North Division this season with the addition of the Laval Rocket, Belleville Senators and Binghamton Devils. The division game breakdown is as follows: Laval (12), Belleville (12), Rochester (8), Syracuse (8), Utica (8), Binghamton (6). The Marlies will cross over to the Central Division for four games against the Manitoba Moose. In addition, with the return of the Charlotte Checkers to the Atlantic Division, the Marlies are slated for four meetings against the Carolina Hurricanes affiliate.

The 2017-18 season will also see the return of the Air Canada Centre Series, including games on Boxing Day and Family Day. During the 2016-17 Air Canada Centre Series, the Marlies held an average attendance of 11,185.

Last season the Marlies finished with an overall record of 42-29-4-1 (24-11-3-0 at home). The final roster of the 2016-17 Toronto Maple Leafs included 12 Marlies graduates (Tyler Bozak, Nazem Kadri, Jake Gardiner, Leo Komarov, Morgan Rielly, Josh Leivo, Connor Brown, Connor Carrick, Zach Hyman, Nikita Soshnikov, William Nylander and Kasperi Kapanen).
